Chala Barrington-Cruz, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with
over 20 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy to adults and families. Her work is grounded in holistic , mind-body approach that recognized the deep connection between emotional well-being, lived experience and personal identity.

Chala specialized in supporting midlife women navigating stress, burnout, identity shifts, caregiver fatigue, and the emotional challenges that can arise during perimenopause and menopause. Her approach focuses on emotional regulation, self-awareness, and resilience, helping clients reconnect with themselves during seasons of change.

In addition to her midlife work, Chala has extensive experience in Christian-based counseling, caregiver stress, parenting, adoption, anxiety, depression, grief, racial and cultural identity development, and supporting families raising children with autism. Clients often seeks Chala for her grounded presence, clarity, and ability to integrate faith and clinical care in a respectful, client-centered way.

Chala peronsal journey with strength training and competitive bodybuilding has shaped her understanding of discipline, boundaries, and embodiment. While she does not provide fitness or exercise instruction, this lived experience informs her therapeutic lens and supports meaningful exploration of clients' relationships with the bodies and personal strength.

Chala offers psychotherapy services to private-pay client. If private pay is a barrier please feel free to ask about insurance options. Chala creates a supportive, nonjudgmental space where healing, reflection and growth can occur and to get the support you need.
